RACISUM
“For years, I have focused on understanding the stages of transformation, as I weathered the various seasons of change while navigating life’s journey. Life’s experiences bring opportunity to grow mentally, spiritually, emotionally, financially, and physically as we build relationships that will ultimately build us. Laced within these experiences are the means to build character, however, our belief will guide our decisions and dictate the life we will live and govern how we treat the world around us. 400 years of systematic racism ends now!!! Racism has negatively affected every area of my life. I am excited that change has finally come! What that change looks like is all up to me. I am holding the change I want to see.”
About Brenda.
Married at the age of sixteen with aspirations to attend Harvard, Brenda L. Riggins was kicked out of school and denied a right to an education due to racism. Her thirst for knowledge and a zeal of determination enabled her to fight for a future only she could see and adapt her skills to take back the education that was once stolen from her.
Brenda’s early influence came from her parents, who had the skills to make something out of nothing. Armed with the seeds of innovation given to her by her parents, Brenda fostered a sense of purpose to mentor, motivate, inspire, and bless others by achieving results.
Today, Brenda is a successful CEO and co-founder of an award-winning and multi-million-dollar company MARS Contractors, Inc. in Miami, Florida. As a Vision Surrogate™, she has been recognized as a force for birthing incredible innovations and has started the B Institute, which houses registered apprentice programs, life and business curriculum, workshops, and webinars. She is an international speaker and facilitator with many magazines and book credits to her name.
As a results-driven businesswoman, Brenda and her husband Marcus Riggins began organic farming in hopes of helping the community grow their own food, and share their love of communing with nature. They are also creating a local apprenticeship farming project for the formerly incarcerated. The farm sits on twenty-one acres of land in Millville, New Jersey.
Brenda’s most significant accomplishment to date is being a devoted wife, mom, grand and great-grandmother. She champions causes related to women’s empowerment, diversity, and promoting healthy lifestyles and businesses.
